With
over 4 years of website marketing experience on the search
engines, we have found nearly all search engine promotion
campaigns to be different. This has happened for a number
reasons, some of which are highlighted below:
- The
competition for each sector is different. Niche markets
are usually less aggressive and so less effort is needed
to gain top positions.
- The
level of coverage required is different. Some clients
only wish to be listed in certain directories/engines or
may only offer services locally e.g. within a county
and surrounding counties.
- The
client already has positions in the search engines.
In this scenario we might need to make a ranking improvement,
gain listings on other directories/engines or look at ways
to increase the exposure by finding more relevant terms
to market the site under - 9 times out of 10 a site can
be improved either through visitor numbers or functionality
within the site.
- The
client has several brands they wish to promote.
- The
website caters for different languages and so we
will want to gain a presence in country specific search
engines as well e.g. Fireball
in Germany.
- And
finally the biggest factor of all - budget - which
has an effect in all the above.
So
whether you're a sole trader and your budget is tight
or a blue chip company operating in different countries
and continents requiring full coverage in the sponsored
and non-sponsored sections of every major engine, we
can nearly always suggest solutions to match your needs.
Simply
order your free web site report (see below) and we will get
back to you with solutions to match your requirements.
We
can even offer SEO training
if you would like to become an SEO expert or train an in-house
team to look after your online marketing.

Before
any search engine positioning campaign should commence, vital
research needs be carried to find out what your target audience
are typing in, where you are under these terms and how much
competition lies in your way. By filling out our online
form where we ask a few simple questions about your company,
we can come back to you with a report containing some of the
following sections based on your answers and a proposed solution(s)
to move forward.
- Keyword
Analysis - By looking at search engine query logs from
the major engines, we can research the terms people use
to find your products & services and how frequently
too. The list is built from a mixture of terms found on
your own site and others that you tell us in addition to
those found whilst visiting comptitors sites. We then have
a list of the main terms we need to target as well as variations
of those terms.
- Position
Report - With the frequently used terms we compile a
position report to see if you have any positions already.
(If you don't yet have a website,
we miss this part out).
- Competitor
Analysis - By looking at the various terms on each
major search engine, we review the number of competing web
pages for your terms and take a look at the top ranking
sites to view their popularity.
- Site
Analysis - Here we look at how your site is built from
structure to technology. This will help us to spot any problems
within the site that are preventing it from being indexed
or ranked highly in the search results.
- Site
Popularity - How the search engines rate your site,
based on the link structure both internally and externally.
This coupled with the information above will tell us how
much work will need to be done based on our experience in
previous projects, to gain listings in the main results.
- Submissions
- With all search engine optimisation campaigns that we
work on we ONLY submit to the free directories (such
as DMOZ and Lycos
UK). This is because we prefer the spider based engines
to find our sites naturally by building links from sites
already in the database. This also improves the link
popularity of the sites.
We also highly recommend and advise on which paid-inclusion
and PPC (Pay Per-Click)
programs to invest in which guarantees a fast review (from
48 hours to 1 week).
- MMR
(Monitoring, Maintenance & Reporting)
- Once we have finished the search engine submissions process
the real work begins. Upon inclusion of your site into the
different search engine databases and directories, we have
to monitor your positions and adjust the pages as the ranking
algorithms frequently change and new competition develops
in order to remain top. On a monthly basis we also
supply you with a position report to show you the progress
made from the original position report.
- Expected
Results & Visitors - By analysing the figures in
the report and adding our experience
from previous projects, we will estimate the numbers of
visitors you can expect to see, month on month.
- Costs
- This will be split into a setup and maintenance
fee. The setup fee will cover our intial work in optimising
the site plus any submission fees that we recommend. The
maintenance fee on a monthly basis will be fixed for the
period you sign up for (minimum 6 months) and will cover
any and all of the work we need to complete in order
to retain the top positions.
In addition to this we will also recommend an allocated
monthly budget on the pay per click listings. This can be
fully tracked with our own visitor analysis software.

With
the above information we offer advice and solutions
to gaining the best coverage and Return on Investment
from the search engines with your marketing spend. Taking
this advice on-board will ensure that you don't
waste your time and resources on 'Submit your site
to 500 Search Engine' scams.
But
remember, you don't have to accept it...
